My overall experience with Adobe Illustrator has been great. However, I notice that my levels of creativity are average, which means I take longer than necessary to produce a great graphic design project.
Pros
Adobe Illustrator is very powerful for producing vector graphics like logos that can be scaled without losing quality. Its tools are awesome, especially for a professional graphic designer.
Cons
Learning Adobe Illustrator can be steep for non-graphic designers. Those new to graphic design can be quickly discouraged when starting out. You need a lot of creativity to use the tools and produce awesome graphics. Few people have very high creativity.

Adobe illustrator is my favorite and I'll probably always use it as long as I can afford it. That being said, I can do most (not all) of the same things with cheaper software.
Pros
What stands out the most is the ability to use a larger canvas size and complex custom brushes without lag time and other issues when painting. Everything is always very smooth and fluid.
Adobe illustrator has more tools in general, and more powerful tools for things like selections, color adjustments, and transformations. I also liked the layer and layer property options.
I designed a product for my company and the artwork and logo on it turned out great using Adobe illustrator.
Overall quality of everything is just better, simple as that.
Cons
Adobe illustrator is significantly more expensive than other digital art software. The workspace and entire software is going to feel very different if youre coming from another product. That could be a pro or con but either way I think there is a small con with the "re-learning" process.

My experience has been not just satisfactory, but I'd say Illustrator has exceeded my expectations. I learnt graphic designing long back with Coreldraw, and later my job required me to travel a lot, and I came to realize that the industry prefers Illustrator to Coreldraw, and I was forced to learn it. The interesting thing was that it did not really take me a lot of time to get the grasp of it, so it's user friendly as well. Now I can't think of any other software when it comes to vector designing. Illustrator is my go-to software for the majority of my designing needs.
Pros
There are quite a few aspects of Illustrator that I'm fond of, but what I like the most is its integration capability with other Adobe Products, and since I use multiple Adobe products like InDesign & Photoshop, I can affirm with complete confidence that it works seamlessly with these other applications, facilitating a smooth workflow across different design and media projects.
Cons
I'd expect it to be a one time purchase product than a subscription service. Yes, it is powerful, intuitive, and can get the job done like no other software in the designing fraternity, but it's expensive. Since it is available through a subscription model, it requires a monthly or annual fee, and I'm sure a vast majority of people like me would prefer a one-time purchase option for this software.

Pros
Adobe Illustrator stands out as my top pick amoung Adobe's suite of applications. I'm particularly drawn to its visually appealing interface and well-organized layout.while it may seem daunting initially, once you familiarize yourself with its features, navigating the program become intuitive and seamless.
Cons

Cons

The Powerful Partner for My Creative Journey Really I Liked

my overall experience with Adobe Illustrator has been incredibly positive. As a designer, I found the software to be an invaluable tool in my creative toolkit, allowing me to bring my ideas to life with precision, flexibility, and artistic flair. The vector-based nature of Illustrator's artwork enabled me to create scalable, high-quality designs that could be seamlessly integrated across a wide range of digital and print media.
Pros
I really enjoyed the sheer flexibility and versatility of Adobe Illustrator. As a designer, I found that the tool's robust set of vector-based drawing and editing capabilities allowed me to bring my creative visions to life with incredible precision and control. From the intuitive pen tool for freehand illustrations, to the powerful shape-building tools, to the seamless integration with other Creative Cloud apps - Illustrator just felt like an extension of my own creative process.
Cons
I believe one of the main drawbacks of Illustrator is its resource-intensive nature, especially when working with large, complex files. The software can place a significant strain on computer hardware, particularly when dealing with high-resolution artwork, complex effects, and multiple artboards. This can lead to sluggish performance, frequent crashes, and frustrating delays, which can negatively impact productivity and creative flow for professional designers working on demanding projects. Additionally, the software's reliance on proprietary file formats (e.g., .ai) can sometimes create compatibility issues when collaborating with team members or clients who may not have access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

Adobe Illustrator's continuing strength stems from its well-established base, even if certain elements haven't kept up with the most recent innovations. Despite this, Illustrator is an industry standard, and knowledge of it is required for design professionals and students. While compatibility enhancements are necessary, the program's fundamental functionality provides limitless creative potential. In conclusion, Illustrator is a must-have for designers, or at the very least, a tool worth studying.
Pros
Adobe Illustrator has a well-established basis built over decades of work. This strong core capability includes the illustration industry's key tools: forms, fills, lines, vectors, and composition. These features' intuitive nature allows newbies to pick them up quickly. Furthermore, Illustrator has unrivaled editing possibilities, limited only by the user's imagination. Notably, the application excels with SVG compatibility, making it a popular choice among illustrators from its inception.
Cons
Despite its advantages, Adobe Illustrator requires tremendous computational resources. Increased RAM, VRAM, and computing power lead to smoother performance. Compatibility might be a concern, especially when working with non-native file formats other than SVG. While basic functionality is easily accessible, mastering advanced functions requires attention and may be more time-consuming than with comparable products. This begs an important question: Is Illustrator still the best vector graphics tool, or has it become a victim of its own success?

I have been using Adobe illustrator from last 5 years and i am extremely happy with it. I do not imagine my workday without using Illustrator. It take some time to learn this software but once you get a hang of it there is not turning back.
Pros
This software is feature heavy that makes it perfect to work on any kind of design projects. Be it small designs for social media or a huge billboard design, it works for all.
Designing illustration is very easy once you get a hang of the software and its shortcut. Once you start using it you may not want to switch to any other tool for illustration and graphic designing.
There is huge library of learning resources which make it very easy to use and every problem faced here you will get 100s of solutions online.
Cons
Learning curve is one of the major drawback with this tool.
Photo editing has limited capability, little advance feature in this area can make this software all in one for graphic designing.
You need high end system to run this flawlessly.

Pros
Adobe Illustrator is by far my favorite app within Adobe. I love the way the interface looks and is organized. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but when you learn where things are - it's so intuitive and really well made. Every year they introduce new features integrated into the app and it just gets better and better every year.

I have been using Adobe Illustrator for more than two decades, and considering that I make my living by designing using tools created by Adobe, I consider Illustrator to be well worth the investment. While I see some younger professionals complain about the cost, I would remind them that not only is Adobe the industry standard, but it represents decades of software development and innovation, without which we wouldn't have many of the other competitors out there. It is worth it to me to have a dependable set of tools by which I can create, without having to worry about gratuitous software bugs or inefficiencies.
Pros
I love that Adobe is constantly innovating and improving Illustrator--creating shortcuts to make my work faster and easier, and keeping me updated with what they are doing. It is a good feeling to know there are teams of people working to continually refine the tools that make MY work easier on a daily basis, and I will gladly pay for a product that creates value in this way.
Cons
The graphs tool in Illustrator needs LOTS of help! It seems like this is a tool that Adobe has just ignored for several years, because I have not seen any improvements in a really long time. It is a clunky tool that makes it difficult to create a graph in the first place, impossible to re-size it, and cumbersome to stylize it. Until I found the plug-in Datylon, I would create a bare-bones chart with the data, then turn it into an object and design it after. However, this method does not allow the data to be updated at a later point, which is not helpful when creating periodic reports where graphs are often re-used. Major headache. BUT I'm glad that there is a third-party plug-in that works well.

Illustrator's a Key Component of Creative Suite
Reviewed on 12/02/2024
Pros
Vector graphics are incredibly important when working with sizes from newsprint 1/8 page ads to wall-covering banners.
Illustrator does its level best to make vector creation and editing a smooth process.
There's a learning curve, to be sure, and the amount of time a given user has for learning the product will dictate their output.
But it's an incredibly powerful tool in the right hands.
Cons
Creative Suite's constant updating under the "software as service" model means that Illustrator can age out of your hardware. (And it *will* if you don't monitor upgrades.)
