Cost-effective Email Marketing Tool

I was impressed because this tool is flexible and easy to use. Automation and segmentation have helped us to create and send targeted emails to our subscribers. And this was a great savior to our business because our email list have exploded. And their web-based program is easy and flexible.
Pros
I love the email editor because it allows you to build both HTML text and simple plain-text emails. Also, it's affordable. Their customer support is also outstanding. Whenever I have questions they will answer them accordingly.
Cons
I like everything about this software. I recommend it to anyone looking for an email marketing tool. It is worth your bucks.

Great service for the engineering-focused teams, while better alternatives exist

Pros
It’s a relatively simple service that gets you exactly where you want to be — send campaigns, post emails for subscription, etc.
Cons
It’s stuck somewhat in a limbo of not the absolute best experience for non-engineers (products like Mailchimp) and also not the best experience for engineers (products like Postmark)

Onboarding makes no sense

Pros
It's very easy to build emails and work with forms and landing pages
Cons
Before being able to send any communication they sent you a set of questions about your data base and lists, where and how you acquire your contacts. They sent this like two hours before I've signed in. I'm supposed to give them all my info, wait for their approval and only then shoot my emails. This is absurd doesn't happen with any other provider I've used before (mailchimp, hubspot, etc)

Sorry to hear you weren't happy with our approval process. We have an approval process in place to maintain our industry leading deliverability. During the approval process we look to find out what kind of emails you'll be sending and how the list was grown many companies continue to use purchased lists, which are not only against the law but impact the service massively too so having this step allows us to educate users and improve our service for all.
In many cases approval can be done immediately, without any additional questions. However at times we do need to get some additional information, this is what will have happened in your case.
Those questions only need to be answered once, and should take no longer than 2 minutes to answer.
While we appreciate those questions may add some additional friction to signing up, it's done with the best of intentions and is why our reputation is so high with the likes of Gmail and Yahoo.

Overall a very positive experience, and great support.
Pros
I checked out EmailOctopus because my previous mail platform was changing it's pricing tiers and I found I was paying for services I didn't want or could not use.The pricing plans for EmailOctopus were better and I was impressed that even the free tier which I used to test the service gave me full access to everything (inc. API). Support has been fast and excellent.The service has a good modern UI and is very easy to use.
Cons
Not much I don't like - I had a little trouble changing the standard templates, but got what I wanted in the end.

Great Value & Features Compared to Competitors!

When we switched over to a cheaper alternative from MailChimp we were not sure what we were getting into. But wow! Glad we chose Email Octopus. Their whole system is flawless and the price is amazing! The customer support is also great. We will be a lifetime customer as long as the system platform and pricing remains the same. Thank you!!

Since I found it, it has been awesome experience.
Pros
I love that I can use it with Amazon SES and that I can send unlimited emails. Also it's easy to use, setup and maintain.
Cons
I wish I could have more than 2500 subscribers for free but their Connect Pro plan is very affordable.

The business problem that EmailOctopus is helping me to solve is the automation of creating an email list with each e-book purchase that I receive.
Pros
I decided to give EmailOctopus a try when I found it listed as an option to manage my email list post-sales from payhip.com. As someone just starting out, I was excited to find an option with features that would allow me to grow with cost effective packages.

Everythin we Need

We have used email octopus for many years. I can't comment on the support - because we have never really needed them - their product just runs properly and without issues. We use it for a lot of things, but primarily for email lists for our users and list management. Their API was easy to integrate into our app, and it makes things really smooth and easy.

Easy to use, almost never a bug, affordable
Cons
UI can be a bit weird, but is super minor. Its a really great product

EmailOctopus comes as an acronym for value-for-money; it does the job as efficient as a $4k/month software but doesn't leave the guilt when skipping some campaigns
Cons
With a lack of direct integrations, using Zapier is easy but costly. However, they provide a straightforward API that I'm planning to make use of, but of course, it'd be even better to have direct integration available

Can't beat the features for the price

My overall experience has been positive. I'm comfortable with tech, so setting this up with AWS wasn't difficult. I like the user interface and I think deliverability is at least moderate. I've been able to save 10-20 month using EmailOctopus over the more mainstream and pricey email providers, so I'm happy.
Pros
I like that I have 90% of the functionality as with the more expensive options, like MailerLite. This allows me to build my newsletter list without the hefty price tag.
Cons
I wish there were more analysis-type features, like being able to tell me at a glance which subscribers haven't opened an email in six months, and then a mechanism to pull that group out and cull them from my list. Right now the process is manual and time-consuming.

Good overall and I will continue to be a client as long as I can be.
Pros
From the ease of signing up, uploading my leads, and creating my first campaign I have really enjoyed using this service. Their support staff is very personal and they work one-on-one with me in a prompt and polite manner. They listen to my issues or concerns and take the time to explain the answers to me. It has been a pleasure working with Email Octopus and I plan to continue to do so for many years to come.
Cons
When configuring the lead capture form I could not figure out how to set the width of the form fields, or design the form to fit the area on my page for it. I had to instead remove a paragraph on necessary information from the page and design my page around their form.

The interface is easy to use and the email sending is easy to access. Unlike other email platforms I’ve tried, I love that there is a minimum amount of subscribers you must have before you must buy the paid plan. Nothing is complicated about this. It’s a great tool.

Pros
We're a small Mom/Daughter business with a small list. We outgrew our list on another platform, but could not justify the cost for a larger list. EmailOctopus gives you more subscribers for free! When we grow that much, we'll be happy to switch to a paid subscription here. We easily made a nice welcome sequence that sends automatically, and the schedule is easy to set and edit. Very happy with all the features and ease of use.

It's been more than 6 months, and we have not had any issues so far!

Overall, our experience has been great. Any time I've had a question or a problem the support center is very responsive, even factoring in the time lag because I'm in the United States and they are in Great Britain.
Pros
E-mail Octopus is very easy to use. It is an intuitive program. Over the past three years that we have been using it it has been nearly flawless. But the best thing about it is it's affordability and flexibility.
Cons
If I had to pick just one thing about the program that I would change would be on the reporting side. It gives good data about the number of opens, numbers who unsubscribe and bounces. However when they report clicks the base it not just on the number of opens but also factor in even the number who never opened the e-mail. To me, that doesn't make sense. How can you report data on someone who never even opens the e-mail.The realistic number of click throughs should be based on the actual number of the people who have opened the e-mail. That is the most accurate data a user like myself can benefit from.

- Integrated API: I automate my list building using EmailOctopus full featured API. I can connect EmailOctopus to my workflow
- Real-time statistics: watch in real time how your campaigns perform
- Outstanding support: I needed support to use the API and got great help from them

It lacks a list segmentation feature and the list contacts editing could be more user friendly.
