My Life Planner

Reviewed on 27/06/2022

I have been using google calendar for planning appointments and training for my business. Google Calendar has been the only app that syncs to all the software that I use, and that has helped me avoid double-booking meetings with my clients across multiple platforms. I also used this for personal scheduling, I have a shared calendar with family members where we plan activities and events together.

Pros

Google Calendar integrates with most of the apps I currently use. I manage all my appointment in Upwork, Calendly and personal appointments. I have shared calendars with my team, my clients and family members.

Cons

Google calendar sometimes does not sync fully on my iPhone's calendar.

Google Calendar is going to soon make Calendly and others run for their money

Overall I had great experience with Google Cal. I use many calendars public/private for various use cases such as - Work, Family, Birthday Reminder, Study, Sycned Todoist Calendar and more calendars.

Pros

Google's new Appointment Schedule feature is ready to start competing with paid calendar alternatives. Love Public/private calendar feature, integration of Events, Tasks & Appointments in one single Google Cal app, Love that free version is powerful enough and love that with paid google workspace plan we are getting so many other benefits apart from new Appointment Schedule feature.

Cons

No Event scheduling feature where you can ask audience to suggest and upvote a common time. No list view like BusyCal which allows you to list calendar events and search them quickly.

Alternatives Considered

Reasons for Switching to Google Calendar

Now that Google supports the Appointment Schedule feature as part of Google Workplace plans I don't need to use and deal with Book Like A Boss UI/UX.

Inexpesive Calendar for Embryonic stage Companies

Reviewed on 14/05/2022

Google Calendars are really worth it when there is no real budget for your company and if you are having a startup. Also, the features that come with Google Calendar are massive; however, when you are moving ahead and need to handle various complex tasks, meeting and etc, you need to think twice about whether this app to stick or not because in the real cooperative world clients have some kind of a hesitation when it come to connecting through Google related platforms. Ultimately if you do not have a google account then things are much more complicated.

Pros

The ultimate good thing about this Calendar is, that you do not need to worry about your departmental budget as it can deliver a solid output in terms of calendar tasks, events, and reminders for a small price. Another great feature of this application is you get many addons with a calendar, for example, whiteboard/google meets and many other google related tools and to have an effective calendar session.

Cons

One of the biggest issues we experienced was problems with syncing with other calendars. You need to be smart and have great technical skills to perform this, as this is to be done with many clicks. Also, this is not a great mobile-friendly.

The best calendar tool for globally distributed teams

Reviewed on 19/03/2023

Google Calendar has saved me time as well as improving the workflow of my entire organisation by removing most pain points from calendar management.

Pros

Google Calendar is by far the most intuitive and easy to use calendar software for globally distributed teams or any teams that work remotely. It makes timezones and work locations easily visible and it makes scheduling a dream by recommending the best time for meetings based on attendee availability. No need to ask when a teammember is free!

Cons

While it's perfect for internal meetings, sometimes clients and external partners can't use it due to their companies IT policies.

Google Calendar is Easy to Use and Increases productivity.

Reviewed on 23/05/2022

The sync means two separate calendars are referenced. This is ensures we don't miss a deadline for an event or for a task. Tasks are assignable. Every team member can see the task. Tasks from google calendar are synced to our practice mgt software. Events and tasks flow both ways via sync. If the event or task is created in practice mgt software or in google calendar it shows up on both platforms. The ability to easily provide the zoom or google meet invite and the fact that google calendar prompts me to send it ensures we communicate effectively with clients and potential clients.

Pros

The best thing about google calendar is its ease of use. For example if you add an event you are prompted to invite others. Reminders for events are customizable. It syncs with our practice mgt software for our law firm.

Cons

I have two google accounts. For some reason my personal google calendar is the default (I believe this is because the personal google email is primary account) I have to toggle between them. I am sure there is a way to make business calendar the primary calendar. Just haven't figured it out yet.

An Any-Business-Must-Have Calendar

Reviewed on 27/07/2021

Google Calendar has almost always been my go-to calendar for years for personal events, and it quickly became a crucial part of my business as well as some of the business that I've worked at. The fact that you can easily sync between devices (mobile and desktop devices) makes it golden.

Pros

Google Calendar can be completely free to use, or can come with their pay-for plans including Google Workspace. It's very quick, syncs faster than most Microsoft Exchange systems, and is very versatile whereas it works on Android devices, iOS devices, and more.

Cons

It can get a little overwhelming when it comes to finding certain features for each calendar entry. When you create a calendar entry, there are some options for the entry that are hidden by default. This is in both the Quick Entry mode as well as in the calendar entry itself.

Alternatives Considered

Calendly and Microsoft 365

Reasons for Choosing Google Calendar

After using it for personal use and seeing what was being used in the commercial market (Exchange, etc.), I found Google not only easy to use and fast (not only to make entries, but to also learn and sync between devices), I also found it invaluable for most things I do. The one thing I cannot live without is its ability to sync between different devices.

Stay up to Date with Google

Reviewed on 11/01/2022

Thanks to Google Calendar, I have been on top of all of my personal, social, and work events, appointments, and emails. Google's integration and synchronization will keep me a loyal user for years to come. I have been so for 13 years and plan to double this, easily.

Pros

I first started using Google Calendar at the age of 12. Being 25 now it has made scheduling, remembering, and managing multiple schedules effortless. The synchronization and integration across multiple Google platforms have been my favorite.

Cons

A major disadvantage is Google's customer support. I ran into an issue where my account was accessed elsewhere without my knowledge. Al of my data, photos, accounts were accessed, altered, and deleted. I sought Google's help for months. Not only did they take months to reach out to me, but they were also no help whatsoever in the end.

Amazing Calendar and Scheduling Software - Highly Recommend!

Reviewed on 07/09/2022

Google Calendar replaced our outdated paper calendar system years ago, and we've been happy users both personally and professionally for over 15 years. I highly recommend Google Calendar to other users, especially Outlook folks who are still stuck accessing their calendar from desktop machines only. It's time to make the switch.

Pros

Google Calendar is our company's go-to calendar software, and my personal as well. From visibility of scheduling, to integrating with other calendars, to sharing and scheduling events together, Google Calendar is top notch. I personally integrate my business and personal calendars on the same view, and use the reminders feature as a running to-do list of all I need to accomplish in running both my personal and professional life. I can integrate/share calendars with my employees or family. I can also import and export calendars from other applications, such as our reservation system, which is really helpful for our staff.

Cons

I have no complaints at all - just the irony of having too many events on my calendar, but I'm very grateful that Google is able to track and maintain my complicated life for me.

Efficient and User-Friendly

Reviewed on 16/01/2023

Overall, Google Calendar is an excellent tool for keeping track of your schedule and staying organized. It offers a wide range of features such as creating and viewing different calendars, integration with other Google apps, setting reminders and notifications, calendar sharing, and a mobile app. It's easy to use and customizable, making it a great option for both personal and professional use. However, some cons that come with Google Calendar are a cluttered interface, the lack of built-in task management, not as seamless integration with non-Google apps, clunky editing of events and some advanced features are hidden.Despite these cons, Google Calendar is still an amazing tool that I highly recommend to anyone looking to stay organized. It's a great tool to consider using, especially if you are already using other Google apps and want a seamless integration.

Pros

Google Calendar is a lifesaver! It's one of my go-to tools for keeping track of my schedule and staying organized. Some of the things I love about Google Calendar include:The ability to easily create and view different calendars. I have a personal calendar, a work calendar, and a shared calendar with my family, and being able to switch between them with just a few clicks is a huge plus. The integration with other Google apps. Google Calendar seamlessly integrates with other apps like Gmail and Google Drive, which makes it easy to keep track of my schedule and attachments all in one place. The ability to set reminders and notifications. I never miss an appointment or deadline again since Google Calendar reminds me in advance. The calendar-sharing feature is also really cool. I can share my calendar with my colleagues, family, and friends, making it easy to coordinate schedules. The mobile app is also really handy. I can check my schedule and add new events on the go, which is super helpful.

Cons

As much as I adore Google Calendar, there are a few cons worth mentioning.Sometimes, the interface can feel a bit cluttered, especially when you have multiple calendars and events. It can be hard to find what you're looking for if you don't know where to look.Google Calendar does not have a built-in task management feature, so you'll need to use a different tool to keep track of your to-do list. The integration with other Google apps is great, but it doesn't integrate with other platforms as easily, so if you're using tools outside of Google's ecosystem, it might not be as seamless. The editing of the events can be a bit clunky sometimes, especially when you're trying to make quick updates to an event. Some of the advanced features are hidden and not easy to find, so it might take some time to learn how to use them.

Pros

I love Google Calendar, its so easy to use and I can log into it from whatever devise I am using.I have to keep a few calendars for my family and worklife and this does the jpb perfectly, because it make organizing very easy.I have one for my work schedule and one for my appointments and husbands and I open it up every morning to get a look at my day so I do not miss anything anyone has going on throughout the day.It integrates very well with my Gmail and all my contacts and he as well can look into it and see what I have going on before he sets an appointment. It simplifies my life day after day and you can set up alerts for yourself as well, which I finds it to be wonderful.

Cons

There are not to many drawbacks with Goggle Calendar except is is lacking in features and design but not enough to be ignored. It can be a bit tricky if you are working with to may appointments because It is hard to read,Thats why I keep them on seperate .Another drawback is if you do not want someone seeing your secondary Calendar, that can be a problem because if they have access to one they can see both,so If sharing becareful of what you are sharing.

Google Calendar is a Must Have for Home and Work

Reviewed on 15/01/2022

Google Calendar ensures that I arrive on time for clients, events, meetings, and social fun with friends. It helps me organise my tasks and it syncs beautifully with other programs essential to my work and my life. With the pandemic, it's become even more important for me, as I have so many online activities to coordinate. I look back on the days of using paper calendars as the Stone Age. I can't imagine going through life without having my day at my fingertips. Thank you, Google!

Pros

I love how Google Calendar puts all my tasks, events, meetings, and appointments in one place. I can colour code for "at a glance" knowledge of how my day is unfolding. I love that it shows up on all of my devices, so that if I make a change on one device, it automatically changes it on all others. Cloud-based programming means never having to worry that if my Internet goes down, I've lost my calendar. I love that I can sync it with appointment and event programs as well as my video call program. It's easy to coordinate meetings with others by adding their emails to meetings to create instant invites. I would have to say that Google Calendar is the program I refer to most during my day, along with Gmail.

Cons

I would like a seamless way to download the calendar by year for future reference. When I am saving a Zoom session to Google Calendar, the window for the event is often very small. Other than these issues, I find Google Calendar to be stable, reliable, and an excellent resource for organising at home and at the office.

Google Calendar.. The Best in Calendar and Organizer Apps.

Reviewed on 02/11/2021

I've been using Google Calendar for quite a long time, and simple love it as it's only evolving more useful by including new functions and features with time as updates roll out. I can quickly find out about major events for each month and organize my own schedule to receive alerts at the correct time.

Pros

Google Calendar is more than just a calendar and is a powerful tool. It not only displays date months and days with holidays and social, national and religious events, but it also functions as a personal organiser. You may use it to create your schedule and appointments. It's the ideal calendar tool, especially if you use Gmail, because it effortlessly interacts with it and even remembers your contacts' birthdays. It offers a highly pleasing and intuitive user interface, which is enhanced by background design photos and fantastic animations. It comes with a high level of integration and efficiency while being simple and straightforward to use. It allows you to simply share your schedule with others and ensures that you never miss an important notifications.

Cons

After editing a recurring event to a different day, It sometimes is a trouble getting the original recurring day to delete. However, I eliminate the old recurring event and begin a fresh one to simply sort this problem. Apart from the above problem, its an all good to use app.

Google Calendar is the best cloud calendar i ever used

Reviewed on 21/05/2022

Google Calendar helped me organize my life for the last six years and i can still go back multiple years and look at what i've done at a certain time. Even when a phone inevitably got destroyed, i didn't think twice about loss of the valuable organization of my time. I think that's awesome and speaks to the consistency of the product. There are other tech-giants that won't loose you're data as well, but no calendar has such a wide and mature integration with this many platforms. That's why i love using Google Calendar and will keep on using it.

Pros

There are many things I like about Google Calendar, but if I had to say just a few, those would be it:
- ease of using multiple calendars to organize different areas of your life
- easy integration of external calendars (e.g. for university, sports, ...)
- Well working web- and iOS-apps, that just work

Cons

There are not a lot of things i dislike about Google Calendar. It's mostly little UI and ease-of-use changes i'd like to see. Like if i'm in the iOS app and want to switch the calendar of an existing event there is no easy way to do this. You have to duplicate the event into the calendar you desire and delete the old event.
The web-app doesn't have this problem, here you can change the calendar directly, even on an already existing event.

Good solution for education admin

Reviewed on 02/11/2021

Overall, Google Calendar has been very helpful with my organization and event management. Although it was difficult to adapt to at first, once it was figured out and the features were explored, it proved to be a rather effective way to manage both my personal calendar, schedule group meetings, as well as manage booking of various conference rooms.

Pros

The features I like most is the ease of portability in terms of the software solution. I can use it on my laptop/desktop or a mobile device. This helps me be connected with my calendar all the time. It is also easy to schedule events across all platforms and inviting others (inside and out of the Google Suite) is rather easy too. It is convenient to be able to color code different calendars and events for visual categorizing. Another area of convenience is Google Calendar's integration with outside platforms to seamlessly add events to my calendar.

Cons

I feel that certain features could be improved upon. For example, the address book's label option sometimes no longer recognizes a labeled group of people. This seems to be a bug in the system and usually works (until it doesn't). Another area of improvement would be to be able to see a timestamp when something is added to a calendar. This would be hugely helpful with room scheduling as one could compare if something was scheduled on a date/time prior to a subsequent room booking.

Google Calendar: Keeping Track of the Big Picture

Reviewed on 09/12/2021

Overall, Calendar is great when it isn't cluttered. I can see my week or month clearly, and the app remembers my big, main events reliably. On the other hand, the app is shaky when it comes to iCloud connectivity and syncing. This is the tradeoff of using the app, and I found that it's best to leave it alone--to not make attempts to integrate other apps into it.

Pros

I liked Calendar's easy, friendly design and how it's very user-forwarded. I am in control, and I decide what stays and goes. I also appreciated its color-coding system for delineating certain events and other items. What Calendar does well is maintaining a steady pulse on what my week looks like, and is tethered by the "big" event of the week, sometimes every week, or every other week, month, etc. It tell me, in the form of a big block of text, that it's coming up--and I can always rely on it.

Cons

However, Calendar is not without its flaws, and I feel that one of the many pitfalls of the app is how it manages individual tasks. These can get confusing of when they appear, how to schedule them, and how to get rid of them manually every time. Calendar isn't great as a day-to-day app, as that role is usually filled by other apps that are more of a list of things to-do.

Additionally, Calendar gets very irritating when trying to sync via iCloud. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't--and it often doesn't--Calendar gets confused and presents me with random events based on something in my other devices, or mixes up or duplicates names, or otherwise clutters the week. In this regard, Calendar is better left as a standalone app that the user should manually type into, as opposed to linking to other apps.

Everything you need at a great price!

Multi-tasking is essential during my workday. Without having Google Calendar to keep me organized and on-time to appointments, I would be lost. I have full confidence that once I put a meeting in my calendar, that it will remind me of this commitment in the morning of the meeting as well as 30 minutes prior to the meeting. It helps me be a person that others can depend upon and trust!

Pros

Google Calendar is a very user-friendly system that helps to keep you organized and on-time for all appointments and meetings. Once an engagement is in Google calendar, you can move on to other things in your day because you will have confidence that the system will remind you of the meeting when the time comes. I like that there is a space that I can cut and paste login information to make Zoom meetings a breeze. I do not think I could work stress-free without this calendar system!

Cons

The system is effective, reliable, and very easy to use. I cannot think of a way to improve anything!

I can keep track of client meetings and much more.

Pros

I love that Google Calendar is feature rich and user friendly. It is extremely easy to use including features such as adding an event simply by clicking a time block on the calendar, basic and custom color coding of events, multiple calendar integrations, easy to invite guests especially if they are already saved as a contact, and so much more. I use this software every single day without fail. It is reliable, effective and efficient. I highly recommend it.

Cons

The one thing that I would like to see included in Google calendar is a booking feature similar to Calendly etc.

I set my appointments for therapy sessions with my clients and I need to keep all the data organized so that the time of meetings doesn't have a clash. I keep adding information to my calendar and set reminders for different clients. I can adds notes for particular clients and even set a direct video session. Sometimes I have guests on board and the calendar has the option to add them to the same event. I also use different colors that make my calendar events look more exciting.

Pros

Google Calendar is great for staying organized all the time. It helps me keep track of important events, reminders, birthdays, client meetings/appointments, and public holidays. I say it is a phenomenal service offered by Google that makes time-management and scheduling effortless. I love that I can check my calendar through my phone anywhere. The mobile application is super easy to use and creating tasks and events is great fun. All the data is quickly synched and you can check your calendar on any device with your Google Id.

Cons

Well, to be honest, there's not much to hate about Google Calendar as it does an excellent job. However, if there is anything that could use some improvement, it has to be the themes. I'd be happy to use more exciting themes for the calendar.
